Pumpkin Bread with Apple Cider Glaze

Moist and tender, this pumpkin bread freezes well. I always have a loaf or two in the freezer. I like to eat it frozen, so often times I'll slice it before freezing it so I can just grab a slice on my way out the door. 

Honey-Squash Dinner Rolls

I hate it when people try to "hide" vegetables in things to get people to eat them. This dinner roll uses butternut squash for flavor and color and I defy you to say they don't look and taste amazing. It's time to stop hiding veggies; show them off instead. 

Quick and Easy Yeast Rolls

Would you believe me if I said you could have crispy, hot, savory dinner rolls in less than 1 hour?  FROM SCRATCH!

Even though this uses yeast it's made more like a quick bread than a traditional yeast bread.  The ingredients are quickly stirred together, put into the pan and set aside for a few minutes before going in the oven.  It really is that easy. 

 

Southern Drop Biscuits

With only 4 ingredients, these easy to make biscuits are perfect for any meal. Add a teaspoon of your favorite dried herb and they're a great side for soup. 

Banana Bread

Light, airy with a rich banana flavor, this Banana Bread recipe is based on the Joy of Cooking version and is still my favorite. Over the last 20+ years I've played around with stir-ins, toppings, different size baking pans and ingredients.  Try different combinations or make up your own and let me know what you think.

At the Munich train station (hauptbahnhof) is a bakery catering to morning commuters and tourists.  I didn't hold high hopes for it but at the early morning hour we were there to catch a train to Salzburg our choices were limited. 

Since it was Christmas time there was a plethera of Lebkuchen (gingerbread) in many shapes and forms, as well as cakes, tarts and breads.  We bought a bunch of things, even though we had no clue what they were. We also got what we thought were a couple of croissants, just in case we didn't like anything else we tried.
